Our Mission

At Our Sensory Nest, we offer a variety of services designed to support neurodivergent children, adults, and their families. From capacity building and counseling to compassionate support workers and parent coaching, we focus on delivering care that is both gentle and empowering. We also provide psychoeducation to help parents identify and shift unhelpful or ingrained patterns in their thinking. Our goal isn’t to "fix" anyone, but to support individuals in growing and thriving in ways that align with their unique needs and preferences. Ultimately, we strive to help your child experience joy, laughter, and a strong sense of belonging and identity in their community.

Who we are

We are a compassionate and dedicated team focused on supporting neurodiverse children and their families with a neuroaffirming and inclusive approach. Our work is grounded in the belief that every child, regardless of how they experience or interact with the world, deserves to be understood, accepted, and empowered. We understand that neurodiversity is not a "challenge" to overcome but a different way of experiencing the world that deserves to be embraced. We are committed to advocating for and celebrating the uniqueness of every child, while providing parents with the tools and support they need to navigate their child's journey.

At the heart of our approach is the understanding that neurodivergent children have diverse communication styles, sensory needs, and ways of perceiving the world. We actively promote inclusion by ensuring that each child’s individual strengths, preferences, and needs are recognised and respected in all environments. Whether at home, in school, or in social settings, we work to create safe and supportive spaces where children feel empowered to be their authentic selves, without the pressure to conform to societal expectations or norms.

We take a neuroaffirming approach, meaning we focus on recognising and celebrating the natural neurological differences of each child. This includes helping families understand the sensory sensitivities, communication styles, and behavioural patterns that come with neurodiversity. By focusing on the child’s individual needs, we guide parents in fostering strong, secure attachments and building relationships based on understanding and acceptance. We believe that when parents, educators, and children are aligned in their approach, it creates a collaborative and supportive environment that helps children thrive.

Inclusivity is at the core of everything we do. We strive to ensure that every child, regardless of their neurodivergence, feels valued, respected, and supported in their development. Whether it’s advocating for children in kindergarten, daycares, or schools, we collaborate with all third parties involved to ensure that every child's needs are met and that they are not only included but also celebrated for who they are. Our goal is to break down barriers, challenge traditional thinking, and create environments that are truly inclusive of all children—where differences are seen as strengths and not obstacles.

By fostering a culture of acceptance and understanding, we help parents build stronger, more resilient relationships with their children, while ensuring that children feel confident, empowered, and capable of achieving their fullest potential. We are here to support families every step of the way, providing guidance, advocacy, and education to help children and parents navigate the world together with love and understanding.

Ultimately, we believe in the power of neurodiversity, and we are committed to creating a world where all children—no matter how they see, hear, or experience life—are embraced and supported.
